Children grow rapidly between ages six and ten. During this window, the jaws are developing and permanent teeth are
beginning to erupt. In certain cases, small, intentional guidance during this stage can prevent larger challenges later.
At The Ortho Co, we evaluate growth patterns, jaw relationships, airway considerations, and developing spacing before
we ever talk about braces.
Sometimes the best treatment is simply monitoring.
Sometimes early guidance makes all the difference.
(Ages 6-10)
During this important stage of growth, we focus on guiding jaw development and creating healthy space for permanent teeth. Because children are still growing, we are able to influence development in ways that are not possible later.
Treatment may include expanders, limited braces, or other growth appliances tailored to your child’s specific needs.
This phase is not about achieving the final result.
It is about building the right foundation so that future treatment is more efficient, stable, and predictable.
Most Phase One treatment is completed within nine to twelve months.
After early treatment, we allow growth to do its work. We monitor your child every six months to track eruption and jaw development.
No unnecessary treatment. Only careful supervision.
(Early Teens)
Once most permanent teeth have erupted, we complete alignment and bite correction. This stage typically lasts 12 to 24 months and may involve braces or clear aligners.
Because the foundation was built earlier, this phase is often more efficient and more stable.

While some children benefit from early guidance, others achieve
the best outcome through careful observation and timing.
This is an important part of responsible orthodontic care.
Our Philosophy at The Ortho Co.:
We treat when it is appropriate.
We monitor when it is wise.
We personalize every step.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic check by age seven. Even if everything looks fine, this visit allows us to assess growth and determine the best timing for treatment.
Your child deserves a plan designed around them.
